What is a logo?

A logo is a graphical symbol, text, or image that is used to identify a business or your brand. A good logo indicates what a company is doing, and what the brand values. The logo can be composed using symbols and text, or just an image.

Can I use an icon as a logo?

All icons and other resources from IconScout are available to you with non-exclusive rights. Thus, You can't use any unmodified resource as your business logo because designers own all legal rights, and they're its owner.

Logos are often trademarked and strictly licensed, so IconScout's license does not allow this. IconScout was issued a license with non-exclusive rights to use it commercially in your projects.

Can I use a modified design as a logo?

If you are making significant changes to the icon or any resource to use it as part of the logo then you need to contact your attorney for legal advice on the process of trademarks / registration. Again, the original design can not be marked as a logo. As if, We are not recommending it.
